Autumn 1 - Tribal Tales

Take a moment to step outside and stand quietly and still. Turn off all your technology and try to forget the modern world. Imagine this place 5000 years ago.

What would you have seen?
What tribal tales will you have to tell?

Tribal Tales Overview

Year 3 had great fun going back in time to learn about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age during Autumn term 1. A highlight of the topic was having a Stone Age expert come in to visit, giving us the chance to ground flour using the traditional Stone Age method and also go hunting with spears! Thank you to everybody who made the effort to get dressed up! The children produced their own news reports all about Stonehenge, made their own Bronze Age pots and investigated geographical reasons to where and why settlements developed where they did. The topic finished with a whole year group quiz as a fun way to recap our learning.

During our PHSCE lessons, Class 3K decided they wanted to help make a difference to the world around them. We looked at the work several charities do and took a vote to decide which charity to support. The class voted to sponsor an African Elephant. During the year, 3K will be raising money by doing such events as a charity car wash to help raise the funds for the sponsorship. For more information please follow this link on the work the WWF are doing and where our raised sponsorship will go.
